Soft (Low Level) Lasers are a great way to help promote relaxation. We often hear of other beneficial results but do not claim them. Below are just some of the technical aspects and possible side benefits that have been reported.
One of the things we see quite often is a person “sighing” and/or visibly relaxing after one or 2 cycles (3 to 6 minutes). In our office we are using the Q-1000. Below are some specifications related to this particular Laser.
We also use Ochs Lab’s 4.5 Watt 940nm Infrared LED Photonic Stimulator. So we use both incoherent and coherent light therapies. Both very well at reducing pain, inflammation and increasing ATP production which is a hallmark of infrared light therapy.
Relaxation is one key to promoting our own body’s natural healing abilities.
Technical Aspects of the Soft LASER used at SLOCountymassage:
The Q1000 we use has 20 Diodes that produce the Q1000's light. 12 Laser diodes provide the source of the low level coherent light. This light is not focused, concentrated or powerful enough to cut or burn.
The coherent light helps donate electrons which in turn can re-polarize cell walls, which facilitates osmosis and lymph movement. Waste products leave and nutrients enter through the cell wall membranes more easily in healthy cells. It is thought that this "coherent light" promotes healing on a cellular level as it energetically nourishes depleted cells. It also is believed to stimulate ATP production by as much as 150%. This should increase the energy resources of the cell and improve cellular communication.
Low Level Laser Therapy has also periodically been reported to help reduce pain, inflammation, increase blood circulation, stimulate bone repair and reduce infection. While this is no guarantee, it is what some people may experience. The Q series of lasers were designed to include many different frequencies of light.
In general, place the emitter on the area of body needing help, wait for a change in breathing, usually they’ll breathe deeper, or sigh… then to move the laser to the next site.
Caution: Sometimes, not always. Herpes and Shingles can sometimes seemingly be aggravated by light and “flare up”. So if a flare up occurs, simply discontinue Q-1000 use in that area, because after all, it is a light source.
Flash Probes (Class III b) < 500mW
· 660 nm Used for lesser penetration, 3-5 mm.
The 660 nm Enhancer is used by many acupuncturists instead of needles for relief in 30-45 seconds rather than minutes.
· 808 nm Used for deeper penetration, 3-5 cm.
Q-1000 Soft Lasers have these 7 modes of healing wave frequencies:
Mode 1: Promotes healing of skin, bones, muscles, lymph, and wounds—this mode relaxes and opens the body to the treatment of the laser, promoting absorption of the healing waves
Mode 2: Schumann frequency (7.83 Hz) conducive for the heart and brain
Mode 3: Promotes general healing for organs and glands—good for wounds, pain, and muscle relaxation
Mode 4: Promotes anti-aging and skin rejuvenation—use for dandruff, healing from hair treatments, scaly skin, psoriasis, scars, varicose veins (allow weeks or months for full healing), eczema, edema, wrinkles, burns, and sunburns
Mode 5: Universal Healing Code—use for strokes, heart and vascular concerns, ADD, and nerve regeneration—smoothes out the energy field
Mode 6: Promotes sleep by stimulating production of serotonin and dopamine—use on the head or abdomen for a cycle or two before sleep
Mode 7: Stimulates the immune system—use for infections, yeast and mold problems.
Here are a few testimonials of positive outcomes certain users have experienced other than just relaxation benefits.
It has been noted that Q-1000 laser has very successfully used to dramatically help Children with Autism. Given enough coherent energy, the body can do wonders.
The testimonials of the Q-1000 are not meant to be used as a treatment protocol. Rather we wish to share some documented examples of how the Q family of Low Level lasers have been used and just a few of the reported side benefits certain people experienced.
As always get the advice of your doctor before embarking on any changes to your lifestyle or treatment of any maladies.
The FDA has listed bio-stimulation lasers as non-significant risk (NSR) devices. Low level lasers sold by 2035, Inc. have received UL approval for safety.
The FDA has approved the Q1000/660nm LASER for osteoarthritis of the wrist and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
Veterinary Use Of Low Level Lasers Low level laser therapy has been used in the US by veterinarians since the mid 1980’s. These lasers are mostly higher power low level lasers. These lasers range in power from 20 mW in the visible light range up to 900 or 1000 mW in the infrared range. Wavelengths vary, but the most common are 650 or 660 nm in the visible spectrum and 808 to 830 in the near infrared spectrum. Some of these lasers are a single laser diode for acupuncture on animals or for the treatment of small areas, and others are clusters of lasers and LED’s designed to treat larger areas. Veterinary lasers are registered with the FDA and are legal to sell and buy, but the company cannot make claims that they treat human disease or disorders.
